Frequency Mode is the second way. Instead of changing the voltage, you change the machine's beat frequency directly, from 25 to 160Hz. This gives you a different kind of control: you can make the needle beat slower without reducing the power, or faster without turning up the voltage so high that it becomes too aggressive for the skin. The Dragonhawk Tattoo App allows you to adjust settings from your smartphone and save your own profiles so you can switch between different setups for different techniques without having to readjust each time.
