What is the holder for?

The Skin Doodler/Skin Surfer pens are designed for fine drawing:
1-mm ball tip, approximately 10.8 cm (4.25″) long, but only 1.6 mm thick.
For just a few strokes, you can easily hold this pen directly. But if you’re mapping an entire design freehand onto the skin or working on a stencil for an extended period, you’ll notice the thin design in your hand.

Usage

Insert the pen into the holder and use it like a regular pen:
